My heart was walled in with concrete and barbed wire. It was poked and prodded one too many times. Broken into pieces, held together with duck tape and string.
But you had me at hello. The warden took down the barbed wire, the workmen broke a hole in the wall. A small one. Because the wall was taken down before and the freedom was abused.
Then all of a sudden a soul that felt all too familiar, a long-lost
part of me said hello. Looked me in the eye and like the fallen, the ones turned to dust because a purple god snapped his fingers to create abundance, the wall disappeared in the same fashion.
The molecule that was separated at birth came back to me. The void within myself suddenly grew life. Flowers in every hue you can imagine, willow trees swaying peacefully over the creek, little rabbits prancing around, bats fluttering above. Had I known this void could become something to beautiful I would have found you sooner.
Save each other from the pain of life. But alas, how can we appreciate the beauty without knowing such sorrow?
